Brian Inacay

Brian Inacay has a diverse work experience in intellectual property law and engineering. Brian is currently working as the Lead Intellectual Property Counsel - Americas at Vertiv since November 2020. Prior to that, they worked as a Patent Attorney at Cardinal Law Group from October 2018 to November 2020.

Before entering the legal field, Brian worked as a Patent Attorney at Armstrong Teasdale LLP from July 2017 to August 2018. Brian gained broad-based knowledge in circuit design, adhesives, metal surface treatments, control systems, software, system and chip fabrication, wireless security, and multiplexing signals. Brian also managed global patent portfolios and handled prosecution matters reaching Europe and Korea.

Brian started their career as a Patent Agent at Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice, LLP from August 2014 to April 2015. Prior to that, they worked as a Patent Examiner at USPTO from January 2012 to July 2014, where they gained valuable experience in examining patent applications.

Brian also has engineering experience, having worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Raytheon Network Centric Systems from July 2008 to August 2009, and as a Mechanical Engineer Intern from July 2007 to July 2008. Additionally, they worked as a Traffic Engineer Intern at Tindale-Oliver & Associates, Inc. in June and July 2006.

Brian's early career involved a Prior Art Internship at the University of Florida from January 2011 to January 2012.

Brian Inacay received their Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Southern California in 2008. From 2009 to 2013, they pursued a JD degree from the University of Florida. In 2012 and 2013, Brian was a visiting student at the University of the District of Columbia, where they also studied law. Prior to their college education, Brian attended Berkeley Preparatory School.
