Athan Denisis has extensive experience in maritime and environmental economics, having served as a Consultant at Veson Nautical since May 2010. Prior to this role, Athan was a PhD candidate at the University of Michigan from September 2004 to December 2008, focusing on ocean and intermodal transportation. Earlier experience includes working as a Research Assistant at MIT on a marine terminal productivity project and serving as a Petty Officer Second Class in the Hellenic Navy aboard the HS Makedonia frigate. Athan also worked as a car dealer for Toyota from January 1993 to December 1995. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering from the University of Michigan, a Master of Science in Ocean Systems Management from MIT, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens.
