Girish Chandran is a seasoned technology executive with over two decades of experience in network architecture and engineering. Currently serving as Corporate CTO at ViaSat Inc. since 2007, Girish leads the development and expansion of Viasat’s global network infrastructure, ensuring connectivity for millions of devices. Previously, Girish held the position of CTO in the Commercial Segment, where innovative satellite broadband infrastructure was envisioned, and virtualization technologies were championed. Earlier roles include VP Engineering at Newtec America, where Girish directed the design of IP networks for multimedia exchange, and various engineering leadership positions at Tiernan Communications, contributing to advancements in digital video and communications technologies. Girish holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from UC San Diego, along with a Master of Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science and executive education from Stanford University.
