Maddie Waktare has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in communications, fundraising, and events management. Maddie currently works as a Media and External Communications Lead at Victim Support. Prior to that, they worked as a PR Officer at the British Red Cross from 2020 to 2022. Maddie also has experience as a Media Officer and Communications Coordinator at the British Heart Foundation, where they handled fundraising PR campaigns, managed media inquiries, and assisted with press at high-profile events. Maddie has also worked as a Marketing Assistant at Kings Theatre and as a Door to Door Fundraising Manager at Plan International. Earlier in their career, Maddie served as a Wish Granting Coordinator at the Starlight Children's Foundation, where they managed wish referrals and provided support to children with serious illnesses. Maddie also gained international exposure as a Summer Intern at the British Council, focusing on cultural exploration and the UK's relationship with India.
Maddie Waktare attended the University of Nottingham from 2013 to 2016, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature.
