Vidullanka PLC is a BOI approved company incorporated in 1997, to construct and operate mini-hydroelectric power projects. The company’s first project was the Bambarabatuoya mini hydropower project, located in Ratnapura, SriLanka. The company has a 15-year power purchase agreement with the Ceylon Electricity Board and contributes 3.2 megawatts of electricity to the national grid. The Company’s second project Batatota mini hydropower project is also commissioned and connected to the national grid ,located in Kuruwita. The company has a 15-year power purchase agreement with the Ceylon Electricity Board and contributes 2.0 megawatts of electricity to the national grid. This would boost the total energy generation to 20 gegawatt hours, as against the 12 gegawatt hours available today. Vidullanka continuously researches the potential for more hydropower projects, and we constantly seek new business opportunities in this industry segment.
