Ben Kaufman has a diverse work experience in the manufacturing engineering field. Ben started their career at General Motors, where they held various roles, including Manufacturing Engineering Leader and Senior Quality Engineer. During their time at GM, they led teams to optimize processes, improve manufacturing systems, and ensure compliance with certification requirements. Ben also played a key role in the transfer of technology and processes for the production of the Volt Lithium-Ion Battery.
In 2019, Ben joined Viking Group Inc. as a Manufacturing Engineering Manager. In this role, they lead a team of engineers in improving CNC machining and automated assembly of fire suppression systems. Ben works closely with R&D leadership, develops manufacturing requirements for new products, and implements innovative solutions for error proofing and part tracking. Ben has achieved significant operational goals, including increasing production output and reducing scrap.
Ben Kaufman has a strong educational background in engineering. Ben obtained their Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Michigan in 2006. Prior to that, they earned their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution in 2000.
In addition to their academic achievements, Ben has also obtained some certifications. In 2015, they completed the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification at the University of Michigan. In 2017, they received the Red X Master - Problem Solver/Coach certification from General Motors. Unfortunately, the specific months in which they obtained these certifications are not available.
