Michael Ruane

Michael Ruane is a seasoned professional in urban planning and landscape architecture with extensive experience since 2011 at the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission, where roles include Associate Director of Planning Innovation and Manager of Freight and Aviation Programs. Notable contributions include developing freight data products and improving planning usability through innovative data visualization tools like PhillyFreightFinder. In addition, Michael serves as an Adjunct Professor at Villanova University, instructing a Senior Capstone Design course in Transportation Engineering. Prior experience includes owning Ruane Landscapes and interning at Gilmore & Associates. Michael holds a Master's degree in City and Regional Planning from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture from Penn State University.
