Vassilis Stathopoulos

Vassilis Stathopoulos has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Vassilis currently works as a Tech Lead for Data and ML Platform at Vio.com (Formerly FindHotel) since December 2022. Prior to this, they served as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Beat from April 2021 to December 2022. With ImpacTech, they worked as a Senior Data Scientist from January 2020 to April 2021. Before that, at yodiwo, they held the role of Senior Software & Machine Learning Engineer from February 2018 to January 2020. As a Senior Research Scientist at Cortexica Vision Systems, they contributed from May 2017 to September 2018. Vassilis also served as the Head of Data Science at Warwick Analytics from July 2016 to April 2017, where they had previously worked as a Data Scientist from September 2015 to July 2016. In terms of academic roles, they were a Research Associate at the University of Warwick from January 2014 to September 2015. Prior to that, they worked as a Research Associate at University College London from April 2011 to December 2013, focusing on Markov Chain Monte Carlo methods and Bayesian inference. Vassilis began their research career as a Research Assistant at the University of Glasgow, where they worked on multivariate analysis, models for fMRI data, and search systems for multimedia data from October 2007 to December 2009.

Vassilis Stathopoulos completed their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the Technological Educational Institute of Athens between the years 2001 and 2005. Vassilis then pursued a Master's Degree in Computer Science at the University of Glasgow from 2006 to 2007. Later, they continued their education at the same university and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Computer Science from 2007 to 2011.
