Robert Beckerdite

Robert Beckerdite has a diverse work experience in the field of information technology and security. Robert is currently working as the Director of Information Security at Vir Biotechnology, Inc. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Security at SentiLink. Robert has also worked at Matson, Inc. as a Principal Engineer and Senior Engineer in Information Security. Robert gained experience as a Senior Security Engineer at Lookout, where they participated in the AWS migration and worked with tools such as Splunk and Sumologic. Additionally, they worked at Heroku as an IT Operations Engineer, NovelASPect.com as a Senior Systems Architect, and Langtech as an Information Technology Architect and Senior Consultant. Robert's earlier experience includes roles such as Information Technology Manager at S-Matrix Corporation and Corporate Systems Administrator at Integer Holdings Corporation. Robert has also been involved in community engagement as a Member at Large in the Redwood Technology Consortium.

Robert Beckerdite attended the College of the Redwoods from 1990 to 1992, where they studied Computer Science but did not receive a degree. Robert has also obtained various certifications, including the 2023 RSAC | SANS CISO Boot Camp from the SANS Institute, the Five Biggest Mistakes of Cybersecurity Programs, Ethics in Information Security, and Communication Foundations from LinkedIn, and the Certified CISO certification from Dr. Eric Cole in 2021.
