Erik Johnson is an experienced thermal analysis engineer currently employed at Blue Origin as a Thermal Analysis Engineer III, focusing on thermal modeling for engine components and turbo pump secondary flow since January 2022. Prior to this role, Erik served as a Senior Thermal Engineer at Hyperloop One, contributing to the electromagnetic systems team responsible for propulsion, levitation, and guidance. Erik also held positions as a Thermal Analyst at Firefly Space Systems, working on stage systems for a pressure-fed rocket, and as a Senior Aero-Thermal Engineer at QuEST Global, performing CFD analyses for gas turbine components and mentoring new graduates. Erik holds several patents related to gas turbine technology and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University and completed a Master’s program in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Cincinnati.
