Phillip Hillis has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Phillip's earlier experience includes working as a Programmer/Analyst at Virginia Mutual from 1993 to 1994 and as a Programmer/Analyst/System Administrator at Sartox, LLC from 1992 to 1993. In these roles, they performed programming and system analysis tasks and developed financial systems in AS/400 environments.

Phillip Hillis has a Bachelor of Applied Studies degree in Information Systems from the University of Richmond, which they obtained from 2001 to 2004. Prior to that, they attended Augusta Technical College from 1990 to 1992, where they earned an AS of Applied Technology degree in Computer Programming.
In terms of certifications, Phillip Hillis obtained the following additional certifications: Certified Business Intelligence Professional from TDWI in October 2014, Certified Data Management Professional from the Data Management Association (DAMA) in October 2014, Data Governance and Stewardship Professional from the Data Management Association (DAMA) in October 2014, and ISO 8000-110:2009 MDQM Certificate from ECCMA in February 2012.
