Jason Elmore has a diverse work experience, beginning in 2001 as a Public Information Officer for Chesterfield Fire and EMS. Jason held this position until 2020. In 2020, Elmore joined the Virginia Department of Emergency Management, initially serving as Deputy Director of Communications. Later, they took on the role of Deputy Director of Communications & Chief Agency Spokesperson. Since 2022, Elmore has also been Vice President of the National Information Officers Association.
Jason Elmore's education history begins with a Certificate in National Emergency Management Basic Academy from the Emergency Management Institute. Jason attended this program at an unspecified time. Jason then pursued an Associate's Degree in General studies from Richard Bland College of William & Mary, which they obtained from 1992 to 1994. Continuing their education, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Strayer University, studying from 2002 to 2004. After a gap in their education, Jason enrolled in Virginia Union University, where they obtained a Master's Degree in Divinity/Ministry from 2010 to 2014. During their time at Virginia Union University, they completed an Advanced Public Information Officer program at the Emergency Management Institute in 2014. Lastly, Jason pursued further specialization in Crisis/Emergency/Disaster Management by completing a Master Public Information Officer program at the Emergency Management Institute from 2019 to 2020.
