Michelle Small

Michelle Small, SHRM-CP, PHR, is a seasoned human resources professional with extensive experience across various organizations. Currently serving as a Senior Human Resources Consultant at the Virginia Department of Transportation since October 2019, Michelle provides advanced HR consultation to management and employees on various programs, including compensation and performance management. Prior experience includes working as an HR Business Partner for UVA Physicians Group, where comprehensive HR services were delivered to over 800 team members, and roles at the University of Virginia and James Madison University, focusing on a range of HR activities from recruiting to employee relations. Michelle began her HR career as a Human Resource Generalist at McKee Foods Corporation. Michelle holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Organizational Development from Eastern Mennonite University.
