Deborah M. Paxson

Deborah M. Paxson is the current Trustee at Virginia Wesleyan University. Deborah was the President of Bethany College from January 2007 to December 2015. Prior to that, they were the President of Wesley College in Delaware from January 1997 to December 2007. Lincoln Memorial University from January 1984 to December 1997, and the University of Rio Grande from January 1981 to December 1984 where they were the Director of College Relations and Alumni Affairs.

Deborah M. Paxson began their educational career with a B.A. in Communications from West Virginia Wesleyan College. Deborah continued their education at the University of Dayton, where they earned an M.S. in Educational Administration. Deborah then completed an Ed.S. in Higher Education Administration from Vanderbilt University before earning their Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Union Institute & University.
