Thierry Payen

Thierry Payen is a seasoned geophysicist with extensive experience in the field, currently serving as a Senior Geophysicist Project Leader at CGG since June 1989. In this role, Thierry specializes in offshore data acquisition to provide earth imaging for resource detection, particularly oil and gas. Previous positions at CGG include Senior Research Engineer and Method Research Engineer, focusing on project leadership in engineering and optimization of marine seismic acquisition. Prior to CGG, Thierry worked at CEA as an Active National Service Volunteer, contributing to seismic earthquake relocation and developing a Magneto telluric program for earthquake prediction. Additionally, a brief tenure as a Geophysicist at TAD involved digital treatment processes. Thierry holds an Executive Education degree in Data Science from Mines Paris and attended Ecole et Observatoire des Sciences de la Terre for foundational education in geophysics.
