Leonard Hoops has a strong background in the tourism and convention industry. Leonard is currently the President & CEO of Visit Indy, a position they have held since 2011. Prior to this, they served as the Executive VP & Chief Customer Officer at the San Francisco Travel Association from 2006 to 2011. In this role, they led various sales and marketing efforts, as well as infrastructure and product development projects. Before that, they were the Sr. VP & Chief Marketing Officer at the Sacramento Convention & Visitors Bureau from 2001 to 2006. Leonard Hoops also gained experience at the San Jose Convention & Visitors Bureau as the Sr. VP of Marketing from 1995 to 2001. Leonard'scareer began at FMC Corp. where they worked as a Public Relations Supervisor from 1988 to 1995.

Leonard Hoops earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from San Jose State University from 1982 to 1987. Later, from 1989 to 1992, they pursued a Master of Business Administration in Marketing from Santa Clara University.
