Senior Vice President, Tobacco Control at Vital Strategies

Gan Quan is an experienced public health professional specializing in tobacco control, currently serving as Senior Vice President of Tobacco Control at Vital Strategies since October 2023. Prior to this role, Gan Quan worked at the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (The Union) for 14 years, holding positions including Director of Tobacco Control, Director of the China Office, and Senior Project Officer. Gan Quan also completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco from July 2007 to November 2009. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Public Health with a focus on Tobacco Control and a Master’s Degree in Environmental Health, both from the University of California, Berkeley, as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Chemistry from Nankai University.
