Toon Vandeurzen

Toon Vandeurzen is a seasoned politician and legal advisor with extensive experience in public service. Currently serving as a member of the Vlaams Parlement since July 2024, Toon previously held the position of Schepen for the city of Genk from January 2019 to December 2024, focusing on space, economy, sustainable development, and the environment. Additional roles include legal advisor to the Flemish Minister of Work, Economy, Innovation, and Agriculture from May 2022 to August 2024, and advisor to the Minister of Welfare from November 2019 to June 2022. Prior advisory positions also include work for the Minister of Justice from May 2017 to November 2019, specializing in commercial and economic law. Toon Vandeurzen holds both a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Law from KU Leuven, attained between 2010 and 2016.
