Andy Louwyck is a highly experienced professional in the fields of geology, hydrogeology, and artificial intelligence. Currently serving as a Voluntary Post-Doctoral Researcher at Ghent University since January 2024, Andy has also been a Lecturer in Artificial Intelligence at VIVES University of Applied Sciences since September 2020, where responsibilities include teaching courses on Machine Learning and Deep Learning, along with supervising Bachelor's thesis projects. Additionally, Andy works as an AI Expert-Coordinator at Vlaamse Milieumaatschappij, having held previous roles within the same organization from 2008 to 2020 as a Hydrogeologist, Groundwater Modeller, and Data Scientist. Andy's educational background includes a PhD in Sciences - Geology from Ghent University, a Microdegree in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence from Karel de Grote-Hogeschool, and degrees in IT (programming) and Geology from CVO Brussels & Lethas and Ghent University, respectively.
