Specializing in securing patents for various technologies, Jim has prepared and filed hundreds of patent applications related to areas such as artificial intelligence and cloud computing. Prior to VLP Law Group, Jim held positions at Seed IP Law Group as Principal and Software Patent Attorney, and served as In-House Patent Counsel for Amazon.com. Jim's career began as a software engineer with multiple technical companies, including Nortel Networks and Rockwell International. Jim holds a J.D. in Intellectual Property Law from the University of California, Berkeley, and both a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Symbolic Systems from Stanford University.
