Daan Oostindiën has a diverse work experience. Daan started their career in 2006 as a Webdeveloper at TXO, where they created websites and programmed custom web applications. In 2008, they joined Elkander as a Softwareontwikkelaar, where they developed various web systems in PHP and indexed complex data in Xapian. Daan also served as a Ploegleider BHV and was responsible for training and leading emergency response teams. In 2011, they started their own company, Oostindiën Webdiensten, where they set up and managed websites for small local businesses and organizations.
In 2013, Daan became an Ambassador for Zoutkamp in the competition "Het Leukste Dorp Van Groningen," where they successfully promoted the town. Daan then joined Wild Sea Studio in 2018 as a Software Programmer, working on backend/API systems and server optimization.
Later that year, they became a Senior Software Developer at the loopbaanapplicatie dit-WERKt, where they managed and developed the existing application using modern technologies. Daan also worked as a Senior Software Developer at VONQ, focusing on job distribution.
In 2019, Daan joined InGoedeBanen.nl as a Software Developer, and later transitioned to VONQ when the company changed its name. Daan currently holds the position of Senior Software Developer at VONQ.
Outside of their software development career, Daan served as the Hoofdbrandwacht Brandweer at Veiligheidsregio Groningen from 2007 to present, and as the Voorzitter of the Vereniging Dorpsbelangen Zoutkamp from 2014 to present.
Daan Oostindiën began their education journey in 2002 at Hanzehogeschool Groningen, also known as Hanze University of Applied Sciences Groningen. Daan pursued a degree in IT and successfully completed their Propedeuse from this institution in 2004.
In addition to their academic achievements, Daan Oostindiën has obtained several certifications. In 2007, they received their BHV certification from NIBHV. Later, in 2012, they further enhanced their skills by becoming a BHV Ploegleider, again from NIBHV. In 2015, Daan Oostindiën obtained the Zend Certified PHP Engineer certification from Zend Technologies.
