Steffen Weil

Steffen Weil has had a diverse and extensive work experience. Steffen is currently working at Vontobel as the Head of Quantitative Engineering, where they lead the Data Science and Performance Engineering department. Prior to this role, they served as a Senior Software Engineer and Senior Quantitative Developer in the same company. In addition to their work at Vontobel, Steffen also worked as a Lecturer at ZHAW Zürcher Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften for a year. Before joining Vontobel and ZHAW, they worked at InCube Group as a Quantitative Developer and Manager. Steffen also held the position of Quantitative Risk Manager at ewz. Steffen has also gained research experience, working as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Tel Aviv University and as a Teaching Assistant and PhD Student at the University of Zurich. Steffen started their professional journey with an internship at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research.

Steffen Weil completed their education in the field of mathematics. Steffen obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree, with the title Dr. sc. nat., from the University of Zurich from 2010 to 2013. Before that, they pursued a Diplom in Mathematics with a minor in Economics from The University of Bonn, from 2008 to 2010. Prior to that, they attended ETH Zürich in 2007-2008 to study Mathematics. Steffen'sacademic journey started with a Vordiplom in Mathematik from the Technical University of Munich, which they obtained in 2005-2007.

In addition to their formal education, Steffen Weil has obtained various certifications. These include completing courses such as "Learn Rust by Building Real Applications," "The Rust Programming Language," "Spark Starter Kit," "Docker Course for Beginners," and "Introduction to Cloud Computing" from Udemy. Steffen has also completed courses on "MongoDB Essentials" and "Parallel Programming with C# and .NET" from Udemy, "Machine Learning" from Coursera, and "Machine Learning Toolbox" from DataCamp. Furthermore, they have completed courses on "Practical Machine Learning" and "Statistical Inference" from Coursera.
