Minck Hermans has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Starting in 2013, they served as the Co-Founder of FOBISS B.V., a technology and software supplier to the retail and banking industry. Minck then became the President of UNISCA in 2012. In 2013, they worked as an Intern at Tweede Kamer der Staten-Generaal. From 2014 to 2015, they were a Project Member at ING Nederland, where they focused on innovation and FinTech. Minck then joined ING as an Analyst and later as an Associate in Syndicated Finance Western European Corporates. In 2019, Minck co-founded borofree, a platform that offers early access to wages and rewards for daily purchases. Currently, they are the Co-Founder and COO of VonWood, a digital timber marketplace aiming to make the wood industry more sustainable and accessible to everyone. Additionally, Minck was a hockey player for SCHC Bilthoven and served as the Prorector of Utrechtsch Studenten Corps.
Minck Hermans has a strong educational background, having pursued studies at various institutions over the years. In 1998, they began their education at Gymnasium Bernrode, where they obtained their Diploma in Economy & Society in 2005. Following this, they enrolled at Utrecht University in 2006 and completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies in 2013. Their passion for Asia led him to Leiden University the following year, where they pursued a Master of Arts (MA) in Politics, Society and Economy of Asia, which they successfully completed in 2014. Throughout their education, Minck Hermans has demonstrated a commitment to interdisciplinary studies, exploring a range of subjects within the fields of politics, society, economy, and liberal arts.

VonWood is founded in 2022 and is the fast-growing startup in Amsterdam with a strong technology driven background and is supported by experienced investors. The goal is to bring the wood industry to the 21st century by offering the only digital timber marketplace where supply meets demand, making the market more accessible to all. By connectingbuyers to sellers without the middleman, higher transparency, better prices and less waste are possible, all while contributing to a more sustainable planet. Wood is one of the most sustainable materials available and by replanting additional trees, we aim to not only compensate for what is traded, but also ensure a healthy future.VonWood works directly with sawmills on the selling side and contractors on the buying side to ensure better deals, but also smoother administration and efficient transport. That makes VonWood more than just the only viable marketplace for timber, but an essential solution for businesses using timber.
