Joseph Sandt has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Joseph started their career as an Undergraduate Research Intern at the University of Houston in 2011. Later, they worked as a Tutor at the University of Kansas from 2011 to 2012. In 2012, they joined the Nanodevice Physics Lab at the University of Kansas as an Undergraduate Research Assistant.
In 2013, Joseph had an internship as a Hardware Engineering Intern at Microsoft. Joseph then joined the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as a Graduate Research Assistant from 2013 to 2020. During their time at MIT, they also held the role of Technical Associate II from January to May 2020.
In 2020, Joseph became an ORISE Fellow at the U.S. Army CCDC Soldier Center, where they worked until May 2021. Most recently, they joined VulcanForms Inc. in June 2021 as a Mechanical Engineer. Joseph has since been promoted to the position of Senior Mechanical Engineer in June 2022.
Joseph Sandt completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering at The University of Kansas from 2009 to 2013. Joseph then pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from 2013 to 2015 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Subsequently, they continued their studies at MIT, completing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mechanical Engineering from 2015 to 2020.
