Chris Derksen has a diverse work experience, primarily in the field of IT strategy and governance. From 1995 to 1999, they worked as a Lead Systems Integrator, overseeing various responsibilities such as technical purchasing, budgeting, project management, and team leadership. In 2000, they became a Supervisor of Systems Integration, managing a regional help desk, data center, server administration, network administration, and intranet for 500 users across three states. From 2008 to 2011, Chris served as a Business Solutions Project Manager, and from 2011 to 2017, they held the role of ERP Manager - Quote to Invoice Manager, leading a team and managing software deployments. Subsequently, they became Director of Business Solutions, leading a cross-functional team and building relationships with vendors. Currently, Chris holds the position of Senior Director of IT Strategy & Governance at Vulcan Materials Company. Prior to their roles in IT, they worked as a Graduate Program Intern at Samford University and as a contractor at Pioneer Hi Bred.
Chris Derksen received a Bachelor's degree in Management and Computer Science from Samford University in 1996. Later, in 2018, they completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Executive Management from The University of Alabama and the University of Alabama, Manderson Graduate School of Business.
