Gary Thompson

Gary Thompson is an experienced healthcare executive currently serving as Chief Operating Officer at Vytalize Health since January 2021, focusing on revitalizing Primary Care through ACO Operations. Previously, Gary held the position of CEO at Synchrony Health from 2016 to 2021, where strategic guidance was provided to Accountable Care Organizations to reduce costs and improve quality. As Founder and CEO of Imperium Health Management, LLC from 2010 to 2015, Gary developed the first ACO enablement company, establishing 17 ACOs with over 1,100 participating Primary Care Physicians. Earlier roles at Humana included Vice President of Clinical Programs, where Gary transformed the company's clinical model, and various directorships in internal consulting and financial operations. Gary's career began as Director of Development at AHI Healthcare Systems from 1994 to 1997. Education was completed at the University of Louisville.
