Richard Dempsey

Richard Dempsey currently serves as the Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Event & Facility Operations at Wake Forest University since April 2021. Prior to this role, Richard held several positions at Louisiana State University from August 2013 to March 2021, including Assistant Director of Game/Event Management and Coordinator of Game/Event Management, along with graduate assistant and intern roles in athletics. Additional experience includes serving as Site Coordinator for the Women's National Invitational Tournament in 2017, managing the All-Star Jam Session attraction for the NBA in February 2014, and various internship roles with the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation and professional sports teams such as the Pittsburgh Pirates and New Orleans Saints. Richard holds a Master of Science in Kinesiology/Sport Management from Louisiana State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication/Public Relations from Loyola University New Orleans, alongside participation in the Executive Education Rising Stars Program at Louisiana State University.
