Raquel González

Raquel González has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Raquel began their career in 2000 as an Events Coordinator and PA to the President at Fundación Encuentro, where they coordinated and organized a wide range of events and provided secretarial and administrative support. Raquel then worked as a Videotheque Coordinator at the Edinburgh International Film Festival in 2004. From 2003 to 2007, they served as a Freelance Consultant and FOH Manager-Fundraising Officer at Beltane Fire Society, managing a team of researchers, conducting interviews, and overseeing marketing and fund planning activities. At SQW, they worked as a Research Assistant, managing a team of researchers and conducting economic impact studies. In 2008, they took on the role of Events and Fundraiser Officer at Central Scotland Forest Trust, where they developed and produced fundraising events and supported external communications. Raquel also briefly worked as a Front of House T. Leader at THE EDINBURGH MELA LIMITED, managing a team of volunteers and ensuring public safety. Since 2009, they have been with WAN-IFRA, where they have held various roles including Events & Training Manager, Senior Project Manager, and Deputy Director Iberoamerica (Spain, Portugal, and LATAM). Raquel is currently a Senior Manager at the World Association of News Publishers. Additionally, they worked as a Theatre Production Manager at Almasoul, S.L., overseeing overall project management and maintaining quality standards. Throughout their career, Raquel has gained extensive experience in event coordination, project management, team leadership, and communication skills.

Raquel González earned a BA (Hons) degree in Festivals and Leisure Management with Marketing from Edinburgh Napier University from 2003-2007. Prior to that, they obtained a BA (Hons) degree in Philosophy (Aesthetics) from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid from 1993-1999.
