Sowmya Subramanian

Sowmya Subramanian is an accomplished technology executive with extensive experience in engineering leadership across renowned companies. Currently serving as Executive Vice President at Warner Bros. Discovery since August 2021, Sowmya previously held senior engineering roles at Google from October 2006 to September 2021, notably as Senior Director of Engineering for Google Search and YouTube, where significant advancements in product architecture and strategic initiatives were achieved. Prior experience includes a tenure at Oracle Corporation from January 1999 to October 2006, where successful strategies and products were developed, and a brief internship at Microsoft Corporation in 1995. Sowmya holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Mount Holyoke College.
