Chris Buie has a diverse work experience that spans over many years. Chris started their career at Paratek Pharmaceuticals as a Senior Research Associate, where they played a crucial role in the company's first clinical trial compound. Chris then moved on to Genzyme as a Research Associate, where they prepared complex reports for biotechnology and pharmaceutical organizations and trained laboratory technicians.
In 2011, Chris joined Devon Energy as a Geoscience Technologist and later became a Reservoir Technologist. In these roles, they implemented sustainable data management processes and created automated relational database systems. Chris also partnered with IT staff to improve data delivery and collaborated with the geoscience team to explore best practices. Additionally, they developed a linear transportation model for salt water disposal.

Chris Buie completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Oklahoma State University from 1999 to 2003. In 2015 to 2017, they obtained a Graduate Certificate in Artificial Intelligence from Stanford University. In 2016, Chris completed a Fellowship in Data Science at Metis. Chris specialized in Data Science by pursuing a Specialization program at Johns Hopkins University Advanced Academic Programs from 2014 to 2015. Chris also earned a Graduate Certificate in Financial Management from Cornell University from 2011 to 2012. In addition, they hold a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration from the University of Central Oklahoma from 2010 to 2012. Chris has also obtained a Small Keel Boat Captain certification from the American Sailing Association.
