Rajan Shankar

Rajan Shankar, PMP®, is an experienced engineering and program management professional with a solid background in mobile payments and fare systems. Currently serving as the Mobile Payments and Fare Back Office Program Lead, as well as Manager of Engineering Communication at the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority since July 2018, Rajan provides technical supervision to the Communication Design & System Engineering Group. Prior to WMATA, Rajan held various roles at CORNET TECHNOLOGY from August 2007 to July 2018, including Engineering Program Manager and Project Manager, and worked as a Systems Engineer at Cornet Technology Inc from March 2001 to December 2006. Rajan's career began as a Quality Assurance Engineer at JK Industries Ltd from 1998 to 2001. Academic credentials include a Master of Science in Technology Management from the University of Maryland Global Campus and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, specializing in Instrumentation and Control, from Savitribai Phule Pune University.
