McLay's career also includes roles as General Manager at Umbilicals International and Sales Manager at both Sub-Atlantic and Oceanscan, along with foundational experience as an Engineer at Seatronics. McLay holds a PGCert in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services and a Higher National Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Robert Gordon University.
