Steve Onyango has a diverse and extensive work experience in finance and accounting roles. Steve currently holds the position of Treasurer at the Electric Mobility Association of Kenya (EMAK) and Head of Finance at Watu Credit. Previously, they served as the Vice President of Finance at Sendy and Group CFO at Silafrica, overseeing finance and ICT departments across various countries. Steve has also held the role of Finance Director, East Africa at NewGlobe and Head of Finance at airtel. Steve began their career at PwC as a Senior Associate, where they gained experience in auditing and providing financial guidance. Throughout their career, they have achieved significant milestones such as implementing new ERP systems, developing control policies and procedures, and improving financial governance.
Steve Onyango has a diverse education history. In 1999, they began their undergraduate studies in Economics at Egerton University, which lasted until 2004. In 2003, they pursued a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification at Vision Institute of Professionals for three years. In 2009, they obtained a Certified Information System Auditor (CISA) certification from Strathmore University. Currently, they are enrolled in the Executive MBA program at Strathmore Business School (SBS), specializing in Business Administration and Management. Additionally, they are scheduled to pursue another Executive MBA program, focusing on the PanAfrican Module, at IESE Business School in 2022.
