Issao Fujiwara

Issao Fujiwara is a Principal Software Engineer at Waymo since July 2020, contributing significant expertise in software development. Prior to this role, Issao held a similar position at Google from July 2008 to July 2020, leading a team focused on core search indexing infrastructure and working on various projects including Search Quality Infrastructure and Google Instant. Issao's experience also includes software engineering internships at Google and Microsoft, where contributions included work on the Google search frontend and the development of a scalable distributed compression algorithm. Issao holds a Master of Engineering and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, as well as early mentoring experience as a math camp counselor at Promys.
