Timothy Yang

Timothy Yang is an accomplished tech lead manager and staff software engineer at Waymo since January 2019, focusing on perception, machine learning, and the productionization of autonomous vehicles. Prior to this role, Timothy served as a senior software engineer at Google from June 2015 to December 2018, contributing to the development of Google Keyboard with an emphasis on predictive expression and search through on-device machine learning and federated learning. Early in the career, Timothy engaged in full-stack development for Google Assistant, playing a key role in its launch at Google I/O 2016 and developing features such as search results and answer rendering. Timothy holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and graduated from Staples High School.
