Amar Basu

Amar Basu is the Founder of TRACE Biometrics, an early-stage medtech company dedicated to commercializing patented wearable sensors and biometrics for remote patient monitoring, with backing from notable awards including the NIH-NIA a2 Pilot Award. As a Professor of Electrical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering at Wayne State University since 2008, Amar has focused on lab-on-a-chip systems and wearable sensors for health applications. Additionally, Amar serves as VP of Engineering Research and Digital Assays at Bioelectronica Corporation, overseeing the design of scalable analytical platforms. Previous roles include research at Intel Corporation and Purdue University, along with lecturing at the University of Michigan. Amar holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and multiple degrees from the University of Michigan, including an MS in Biomedical Engineering and an MSE in Electrical Engineering.
