Umer Khalid

Umer Khalid, PhD, currently serves as an Adjunct Professor and Instructor/Researcher at Wayne State University, where responsibilities include teaching Basic Engineering Design using Arduino and Numerical Methods using Matlab since January 2011. Concurrently, Umer Khalid has held multiple roles at General Motors since June 2017, including GM Defense Autonomy Strategy & Requirements Architect and Senior Front Camera Module Design and Release Engineer. Previously, Umer Khalid was a Senior Electrical Architect and Sub System Lead Engineer for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) at Ford Motor Company from August 2014 to June 2017. Prior experience also includes working as a Systems and Calibration Engineer at Robert Bosch from January 2012 to August 2014. Umer Khalid holds a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering (Robotics) from Wayne State University, in addition to a Professional Certification in Architecture and Systems Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and multiple degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Wayne State University.
