Zelalem Mengistu

Zelalem Mengistu, D.Sc., serves as the CEO and Director of Global Cybersecurity & Emerging Tech Advisory at RASBYTE since June 2021. As a member of the Africa IPv6 Cybersecurity Task Force, Zelalem is committed to aiding Africa's transition from IPv4 to IPv6 for enhanced digital growth and security. In academia, Zelalem holds positions as an Associate Professor of Cybersecurity at Bay Atlantic University and as an Adjunct Associate Professor at both Webster University and the University of Maryland Global Campus, focusing on graduate-level education and curriculum design. Zelalem's extensive experience includes serving as a Senior Advisor/Subject Matter Expert for the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency until April 2025, as well as previous roles within the U.S. Department of State and McAfee, where contributions to public-sector cybersecurity were recognized with various accolades. Zelalem's educational background includes a Doctor of Science in Cybersecurity from Marymount University, a Stanford Advanced Computer Security certification from Stanford University, and a Master of Science in Computer and Information Systems Security.
