Michael Comerford

Michael Comerford, CHC, CCEP, serves as the Director of Regulatory Compliance and National Medicare & Medicaid Compliance Officer at WellSense Health Plan since January 2018, overseeing adherence to state and federal regulations for various healthcare products. Previously, Comerford held multiple compliance roles at Centene Corporation from May 2016 to January 2018, including Director of Compliance for the New England Region, managing state regulatory relationships and compliance programs. From January 2002 to May 2016, a significant tenure was spent at Harvard Pilgrim Health Care as Medicare Compliance Officer, focusing on compliance program administration and regulatory adherence. Comerford has also worked as an Independent Consultant for a radiotherapy practice, Compliance Manager at Health Net, and as an Investigator for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Educational qualifications include a Master's in Health Care Management from St. Thomas University, various certificates in healthcare management, paralegal studies, and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University.
