Steve McCune

Steve McCune currently serves as the Medical Director of Clinical Research at WellStar Health System, where responsibilities include acting as Principal Investigator for oncology clinical trials and serving on the Institutional Review Board. Additionally, Steve holds the position of Director of Clinical Trials at Northwest Georgia Oncology Centers, evaluating clinical trials and providing hematology and oncology services alongside a team of over 20 medical oncologists across multiple locations in Georgia. Previous roles include Deputy Director of Clinical Trials at the same center and a board member of the Georgia Center for Oncology Research and Education, an organization focused on enhancing cancer care through research and education. Steve's extensive education includes a Hematology/Oncology Fellowship from Duke University School of Medicine, an Internal Medicine Residency from UAB Marnix E. Heersink School of Medicine, and an MD/PhD in Gene Therapy/Biochemistry from the same institution, complemented by an undergraduate degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
