Lydia Schulze Althoff has extensive experience in the legal field. Lydia began their career in 1998 as a Corporate Legal Counsel at Bayer, where they worked until 2004. From 2004 to 2013, they served as the Head of Global Litigation at Bayer AG, managing worldwide litigation matters and overseeing a team of lawyers and paralegals. In 2013, they transitioned to become the General Counsel of Bayer Animal Health, leading their Global Law, Patents, and Compliance function and serving as a member of the executive leadership team. In 2020, Lydia joined Elanco as the Deputy General Counsel and Head of Legal International, providing legal and strategic advice for their international operations and leading a team of attorneys and paralegals. Currently, they hold the position of Head Legal and Compliance at Welthungerhilfe (WHH).

Lydia Schulze Althoff completed their education in the field of Law. Lydia first attended the University of Geneva from 1991 to 1992 for their Legal Studies. Lydia then studied at the University of Freiburg from 1989 to 1995, obtaining their First State Exam. In 1993, they had a brief stint at the University of Aberdeen. Finally, they completed their education at the Oberlandesgericht (Regional Court) Düsseldorf from 1996 to 1998, obtaining their Second State Exam or Bar Exam.
