David Cannings has a diverse work background, primarily in finance and consulting. David started their career at FAI Life Limited as the Chief Financial Officer, where they achieved notable accomplishments such as separate corporate listing and successful sale of the business. David then worked as a contractor for the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, focusing on marketing expansion. Next, they served as the Chief Financial Officer at Charterbridge Davey, implementing strategies to expand their tax and accounting practice. David also worked as a contractor for Royal and Sun Alliance, resolving administration issues. David held various positions within the Anglican Church, Diocese of Sydney, including Chief Financial Officer and Chief Investment Officer, where they achieved cost savings, restructuring operations, and achieving over index returns. Lastly, David worked as the Chief Financial Officer at Wesley Mission, where they improved annual performance and executed significant property sales. In between their roles, they also provided consulting services through Cannings Business Consulting.
David Cannings completed their Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, and Economics at Kuring gai College from 1979 to 1982. David then pursued their MBA at the University of Sydney from 1985 to 1987.
