Michael Slaven

Michael Slaven is a distinguished academic and audio producer with extensive experience in higher education and music production. Currently serving as a Professor at PennWest University since January 2020, Michael specializes in French History and seventeenth-century propaganda at California University of Pennsylvania, where a professorship has been held since January 1992. Additional teaching roles include part-time faculty at West Virginia University, focusing on the History of Print and Printmaking and the History of Film. Since 2001, Michael has also been active as a self-employed audio producer and DJ under the name Sonik Professor, creating and performing various electronic music genres. Michael earned a Ph.D. in European (French) History from West Virginia University, where studies were completed in August 1993.
