Michael DiStefano, CPA has a solid work experience in financial management and accounting. Michael most recently worked as the Vice President of Finance at WestCap Group since August 2019. Prior to that, they had a long tenure at The Blackstone Group, starting in May 1999 and ending in July 2019. During their time at The Blackstone Group, they held the position of Vice President in Management Company Accounting, where they were responsible for overseeing the accounting close for various legal entities related to the Real Estate and Hedge Fund Solutions business segments. Michael managed a team of accounting and finance professionals and ensured compliance with SOX guidelines. Michael also played a key role in audits and provided support for ad hoc requests. Before joining The Blackstone Group, Michael was a Senior Accountant at EY, where they supervised audits and performed ad hoc services for clients. Michael began their career as a Staff Accountant at Farber Blicht Eyerman & Herzog. Throughout their career, Michael has demonstrated expertise in financial management, accounting, and team leadership.
Michael DiStefano, CPA earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Long Island University in 1994. Michael also obtained the CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANT certification from the New York State in March 1997.
