As Chief Technology Officer, Ben Hawksworth leads all facets of Western Union’s technology organization, including its platforms, infrastructure, engineering, and data and innovation strategies.
Ben brings a wealth of experience gained over 25 years of technology and business leadership across multiple large-scale and high-transaction volume FinTechs and Financial Service businesses, including virtual lease-to-own, payments, and commercial & retail banking.
Most recently Ben was the Chief Technology and Product Officer for the virtual lease-to-own leader Progressive Leasing, where he led Technology, Product, Information Security, and Risk. Prior to Progressive, he served as Chief Information Officer for First Data’s (now Fiserv) Global Business Solutions business unit, where he led platform strategy, engineering, project, and portfolio management across the global regions of First Data’s merchant business. Earlier, Ben held senior technology leadership roles at Vantiv (now FIS), and Fifth Third Bank, where he drove strategies for a next-gen payments platform, cloud banking platform, multiple front-office and back-office transformations, and enterprise-wide workforce models.
Ben holds a BSBA in Management of Information Systems and an MBA from The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business. He lives with his family in Park City, Utah.
