Alexandra Smialek

Alexandra (Ola) Smialek is an experienced educator and planning professional currently serving as a Visiting Lecturer at Westfield State University, where Alexandra will instruct a unique First Year Journey Program course and an Introduction to Community Planning course in upcoming semesters. With a background in community and regional planning, Alexandra is also a Planning Assistant at Jamie Caplan Consulting LLC, focusing on community capability assessments and comprehensive profile creation. Previous experience includes roles as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where Alexandra researched institutional factors affecting water supply systems, as well as teaching undergraduate courses and assisting in graduate-level Geographic Information Systems classes. Alexandra holds a PhD and an MS in City/Urban, Community, and Regional Planning, as well as a BS in Regional Planning from Westfield State University.
