Laura Arends has a diverse work experience in the field of education. Laura started their career as a Teacher of Religious Studies and English at The King's School, Ely from 1996 to 1998. Laura then moved on to become the Head of Religious Studies at Northwood College from 1998 to 2002. Following that, they worked as the Head of Education at St. Paul's Cathedral, where they established the Cathedral education service. Lastly, they joined Westminster Abbey as the Head of Learning in 2009, leading a team that provided formal, informal, and digital learning experiences for various groups visiting the site.

Laura Arends has a solid educational background in religious studies. Laura completed their MA (Hons) in Theology & Religious Studies from the University of Cambridge between 1992 and 1995. In 1995, they furthered their education by obtaining a PGCE degree in Religious Studies (Secondary) from the same university.
