Cary Barbor is an accomplished journalist and writer with extensive experience in radio production, editing, and literary hosting. Currently serving as a Reporter and Host of the Gulf Coast Life Book Club at WGCU Public Media since 2019, Cary also freelances as a writer, editor, and radio producer. As a long-time host and producer for Books and Authors, Cary engages with notable authors and offers insights on literature. Previous roles include Senior Editor at Gulfshore Business Magazine and Health Director at More magazine, showcasing strong editorial leadership in health and wellness content. Cary's fiction writing has gained recognition, including a Pushcart Prize nomination for the short story "We Don't Wear Shoes in the Ashram." Educationally, Cary holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Lafayette College and a Master's degree in English from UMass Boston, complemented by studies at Birkbeck, University of London.
