Maura Heffner currently serves as the Chief Exhibitions and Collection Officer at the Whitney Museum of American Art since August 2022. Prior to this role, Maura Heffner held various positions at the Whitney Museum from 2008 to 2022, including Director of Exhibition Management and Assistant Director. Earlier experience includes serving as the Director of Exhibitions and Collections at the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art from 2002 to 2006, as well as roles as Assistant Curator and Manager of the Touring Exhibition Program at the Whitney Museum from 2000 to 2002. Maura Heffner has also completed the Museum Leadership Program at Columbia Business School in 2022, and has pursued education at New York University and Vassar College.
