Preethy Nair is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in bioinformatics and communications. Currently serving as Communications Lead for the Executive MAPS National Committee at Women In Bio since September 2020, Preethy is also a Youth Outreach Coordinator for the organization. In addition, Preethy has been a Bioinformatics Researcher at the University of Helsinki since February 2013, focusing on the analysis of miRNA and mRNA sequencing data related to human auditory perception. As a Software & Data Carpentries Instructor since August 2018, Preethy contributes to teaching coding and data skills. Prior experience includes a role as a Bioinformatics Research Assistant at the University of Tampere from June 2010 to February 2013. Preethy holds a Master of Science degree in Bioinformatics from the University of Helsinki, completed in 2021.

Women In Bio is an organization of professionals committed to promoting careers, leadership, and entrepreneurship of women in the life sciences. We aim to help women achieve the highest levels of leadership, influence and decision-making that they desire. Our primary focus is to provide women-to-women mentorship and leadership support through all stages of career development from bench to boardroom from academia to industry from first job to last from idea to entrepreneur Our members reflect the increasing spread of the life sciences. We belong to biotech and pharma companies, universities and institutes, law and accounting firms, marketing and PR firms, CROs and CMOs. Many of our members are entrepreneurs, and a focus on entrepreneurship has remained core to the mission of WIB since its foundation in 2002.
